Job Description
Full-time, Non-exempt
GENERAL FUNCTION
This describes an entry-level position for computer configuration and delivery assistant. This position requires direct supervision performing specified duties as listed below, including, but not limited to, unpacking PC, setup PC Loading OS, booting PC to operating system and installing peripherals.
EDUCATION
Required: None
Preferred: High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE
Required: None
Preferred: At least 1 year of experience with computer hardware, configuration, software and operating system knowledge
CERTIFICATIONS
Required: A+ Certification,
Preferred: Network +
KNOWLEDGE
Basic knowledge with respect to:
Computers hardware and software
Peripherals (including but not limited to internal & external modems, sound cards, video cards, network interface cards, SCSI adapters, storage devices, memory, etc.)
Operating Systems
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Under Supervision, must be able to:
Remove PC from packing material
Dispose of packing material
Connect / Setup PC
Connect Peripherals and verify functionality
Assist in the delivery of computers, copiers and other ESI related equipment
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
PERFORMANCE SKILLS
Ability to communicate effectively orally and written with customers, coworkers, vendors and supervisors.
Possess good organizational skills
Ability to demonstrate time management skills to handle work load
Possess good listening skills
Ability to work and function efficiently either individually or in a team oriented environment
Possess good math skills
Ability to follow safety procedures
Ability to assist in planning and coordinate onsite efforts for projects
Ability to work independently with customer and follow ESI empowerment questions
Ability to demonstrate proper operation and functionality of all equipment to customer
Ability to manage one or multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to follow instructions from customer, account lead, team leader, service management or co-worker
Ability to fill out work orders completely
REQUIREMENTS
Meet the requirements of Electronic Systems Fleet Safety program:
Possess and maintain reliable transportation
Possess and maintain valid drivers license
Provide certificate of insurance with adequate liability coverage and include statement from insurance company of their knowledge that you use your vehicle for work
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to drive for 6 hours of the day
Ability to stand, crouch, walk, kneel, crawl, lay, bend, and perform simple and firm grasping functions with both left and right hands for 6 hours of the day.
Be prompt and on time to work and scheduled appointments
Periodically be on call 24 hours a day for various contracts and commitments
Able to maintain professional demeanor under stress
Possess strong interpersonal skills
Posses strong customer service skills
Possess strong phone skills
Provide updates of service calls upon completion or incompletion of each call to the call support center
Report to and be prepared to begin work promptly at 7:00 a.m., work a minimum 8 hour day, with a 1 hour lunch, and continue work until 4:00 p.m. These hours may shift as customer or work load demands and should be expected to start prior to 7:00 a.m. and continue past 4:00 p.m.
Demonstrate the ability to contact account leader, team leader or service management to seek assistance if you are unable to perform the task in a timely fashion or if you encounter any reasons that are preventing the timely resolution of a service call.
Notify account leader, team leader or service management as soon as you have knowledge of any unscheduled or scheduled time off.
Able to drive 15 to 25 foot box trucks
Able to lift 75 lbs
Able to wrap pallets and load and off load trucks

Works Directly For: Assigned Installation Technician, Designated Lead Technician, Team Leaders, Managers
Works With: All customers and employees
